Pics of the First Aid traing

We just completed the  First Aid Kits training on the Coastal areas of Kenya to  equip schools and orphanages that are far from a clinic. I hope these pictures show the excitement and joy we felt as we trained 15 different village teams and teachers to become First Aid Workers. Thank you to Marilyn Ga, Candy McCue, and Liz Flowers who came and helped with the training,  and all who donated to make this project a success!

As the Connect Africa team was leaving on the bus for the next crusade event in Lamu, they had a tire blow out in an area where bandits attack vehicles near the Somalia border. In the haste to get the bus going, the driver did not prop up the bus properly and the bus slipped off the jack and badly crushed his arm. After extracting him from under the vehicle, the crowd gathered around and was watching him bleed. Then Leonard  remembered  they had a first aid kit aboard, and the village leader we had just trained, brought out the First Aid Kit, stopped the bleeding, bandaged the Arm, and treated for shock. The driver was sucessfully brought to Lamu for treatment! This Stuff Works!

Here is the results of all the hard work, 15 villages and Nomadic tribes will be impacted!

It started days earlier with the purchase of the empty boxes

Every eye is on her, and little did we know that one of these leaders would be doing the real wound a day later

Presenting the kit to a team from the Somalia border area where mazungu folks are in danger if they go.

We overloaded this poor van and transported all our team, gear and First aid kits out to the Tana river area where the need is.
